INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN PORTFOLIO
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was commissioned to design online summer academy for three area school districts. In this course, I introduce best practices for distance learning: Instructional Delivery; Formative Assessment in the Digital Age; Creation + Collaboration; and Gamification
I often roll my eyes during PDs where I feel like it is "obvious" or "low level" concepts. I admit, I did not come into it with a positive attitude, marred by boring past experiences. But this was genuinely engaging, and I really liked the resources that were presented. As someone who is relatively tech-savvy, I felt like the experience was useful for all levels of comfort and everyone could take away something. I honestly wished I had these sooner to utilize over these past months because they were so good! |
Distance learning requires more than simply transferring our current lessons into digital ones. It requires interactivity, engagement, and connectivity.
This is the second set of online courses I have taken from you. You present material in a logical manner, yet in the briefest way possible. You understand teachers have busy lives and provide instruction in a matter of fact, easily understandable fashion. I will sign up for any of your courses in the future! This course offered the BEST resources and online instruction advice I have ever encountered. |
project detailsThis book is a must-have for any classroom, school, or district that’s “Gone Google.” Yes, you may know how to use the apps, but do you know the best practices for pedagogy with them?
I have received some very good tech integration ideas from this course, particularly ideas on how to inspire the teachers I coach! project detailsAre Littles ‘big enough’ to use technology in the classroom? Yes! Their innate drive to discover and willingness to try is also what makes Littles great at embracing new opportunities.
Thank you, Stephanie, for creating a safe space in which to collaborate and learn. I am one of those extroverts in person, but introverted in front of a camera (or webcam or voice recorder) type of people, yet I have never hesitated with these tools in your classes. Your feedback is always timely, positive and enlightening. project detailsThis interactive self-paced, self-directed training was designed for district teachers to explore and understand the basics skills of G Suite for Education. Several opportunities to create learning artifacts are embedded in the training as well. Learning badges for completing levels are offered.
Great training. I love that it was self paced and we were able to create something that we will be able to use right away. Thank you for the opportunity to learn something new! Project DetailsMore often than not, our administrative teams get left behind when it comes to G Suite training across a district. This five-part blended workshop groups G Suite apps by task and awards badges for applying learned skills to artifacts of learning.
I like the set-up of the course so you can go at your own pace. I wouldn't change anything. It was a great learning experience! |
project detailsA HyperDoc is a digital document in which the learning cycle components are located in a central hub with the power to transform digital lesson design.
This is literally the best class I have ever taken. It kept things very practical and real. I wouldn't change a thing! Fun, inspiring, as well as challenging. project detailsBlended learning has the power to reinvent education, but the transition requires a new approach to learning and a new skill set for educators.
This course was meaningful, engaging and very manageable. We all need to recharge during the summer and sometimes coursework, while necessary to our lifelong learning, can really prevent that. This course did the opposite and I feel recharged and ready to dive in! Project DetailsOERs are digital platforms rich with openly-licensed text, media, interactive, and formatives that you can re-mix, customize, and share with your students.
Lots of resources applicable to our work. Excited to proceed with the OER journey. I have a better idea of how to proceed now. Project DetailsMindful of my multi-generational audience, I designed this training to be both a self-directed pre-assessment and a full-day training. Those participants more comfortable with technology and preferring to be self-directed were encouraged beforehand to watch tutorial videos, engage in interactive learning, and complete a series of tasks to demonstrate mastery. (They were then exempt from the full-day training.) Traditional learners completed the same tasks under guidance and within collaborative learning groups.
Love the hands-on approach and the link to work on specific skills later at my own pace. |
Project DetailsThis training was designed for a district's non-classified staff (non-educators) unfamiliar with using technology in a daily setting. With guidance, participants engaged in self-directed, interactive learning, with backchannels embedded to provide for cohort-based discussions of learning.
I appreciate the self-guided approach. This approach has a more adult feel and allows everyone to explore what they believe to be important....it was interactive, interesting, and at our own pace. Any training that is both engaging and offers participation, holds both interest and intrigue. |
Project DetailsDesigned for EMIS Professionals to achieve an advanced level of learning, the EMIS Leadership Academy will provide a concentrated education program which exceeds normal training opportunities. Attendees will become part of a network of EMIS leaders and invaluable district assets.
Stephanie identified a lot of tools that can assist us with our roles and save time. I appreciated that you set up the tools and then let us work at our own pace on them, especially since people catch on to technology at various rates. We all didn't have to sit and wait for everyone to be up to speed or on the same page. |
